UWA International Fee Scholarships
Applications are invited from suitably qualified international students to apply for a UWA International Fee Scholarship to undertake the degree of Master by Research or Doctorate by Research at The University of Western Australia. Successful applicants will also be awarded a full living allowance scholarship, valued at AUD30,000 per annum.
Dean’s Excellence in Arts, Business, Law and Education PhD Scholarships
The Dean’s Excellence in Arts, Business, Law and Education PhD Scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding international and domestic students wishing to undertake a research doctorate (PhD) in the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Education (FABLE). All Dean’s Excellence in Arts, Business, Law and Education PhD Scholars will receive a scholarship package which includes a living allowance (stipend) valued at $33,000 per annum; a research allowance of $5,100; Overseas Student single Health Cover; and tuition fees.
Forrest Research Foundation PhD Scholarships
The Forrest Research Foundation PhD Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students who wish to undertake high quality research and enrol in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at a Western Australian university. All Forrest Scholars will receive a package which includes a Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship or University Postgraduate Award (UPA) valued at $30,000 per annum in 2020; an accommodation allowance valued at $21,069 per annum in 2020 (subject to annual indexation); and a relocation and research travel allowance of $13,000.
The Dean’s Excellence in Science PhD Scholarships
The Dean’s Excellence in Science PhD Scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding international and domestic students wishing to undertake a research doctorate (PhD) in the Faculty of Science. All Dean’s Excellence in Science PhD Scholars will receive a scholarship package which includes a living allowance (stipend) valued at $40,000 per annum; a research travel/conference allowance of $5,000 per annum; a research operating and submission costs allowance of $5,000 per annum; Overseas Student Health Cover; and tuition fees.
UWA China Scholarships

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and The University of Western Australia (UWA) are offering postgraduate research scholarships each year to students from the People’s Republic of China who intend to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at UWA. Applicants who are citizens and normally residing in China at the time of application, and enrolled or registered in a Chinese University, may apply for a UWA China Scholarship.
Global Excellence Scholarship
This significant scholarship will be awarded to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students, from selected countries, who apply for particular courses at the University. If you’re looking to study in Australia, you could be awarded up to AUD$45,000 for undergraduate studies and up to AUD$30,000 for postgraduate studies to assist with your tuition fees. Global Sporting Excellence Scholarship
This is sporting scholarships to high-performing athletes, coaches and officials from across the globe who study with us. This significant scholarship will be awarded to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students from many different countries who are studying a wide variety of courses at the University. If you’re looking to study in Australia, you could be awarded up to AUD$45,000 for undergraduate studies or AUD$30,000 for postgraduate studies to assist with your tuition fees.
English Language Course Scholarship for International PhD Students
The UWA English Language Bridging Scholarship is a 10-week pre-course English language program, offered free of charge to selected students who have been offered a PhD place at UWA and have not quite achieved the UWA English entry requirement.
International Loyalty Program
UWA offers reduced fees to the third and subsequent siblings of international students who have studied or are currently studying at the University.
