Various scholarships are available from universities, governments, research institutions and even private companies for prospective Australian students. This opportunity is specifically designed to attract high-achieving students or talented people who are expected to work in Australia after graduation. Many of these programs offer large amounts of financing (bulk payments), education subsidies, or living benefits to ease and facilitate the lives of students who wish to study in Australia.

The Australian Government pays great attention to scholarship programs for international students and invests around $ 200 million a year in programs at universities and other tertiary institutions throughout the country. The Australian Government scholarship including:

• Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS)
• Destination Australia awards
• Research Training Program (RTP)

Many universities provide tuitoion fee reduction. Although it does not cover the entire cost of study, partial scholarships from universities can quite helpful. Depending on the program, some provide a reduction in tuition fees by 20-25%. There are also those who provide funds worth a dozen or even tens of thousands of Australian dollars.

Australian Catholic University

• ACU International Scholarship. ACU reward commencing undergraduate and postgraduate International students who have demonstrated outstanding academic merit in prior studies. There are 20 scholarships available that will cover half of the full-time fees for the minimum duration of your course.
• The Global Excellence Scholarship provides a tuition-fee waiver of up to $2,500 each semester to commencing undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Mercy Scholarship is for undergraduate international students. There are two scholarships awarded annually as a tuition fee waiver equivalent to the full tuition of the recipient’s course duration up to four years.

Australian National University

Various scholarships available for international students at all study levels, which can be found using a search tool on the university site.

• 10kclub.io Scholarship is available each year to a continuing ANU student who is undergraduate domestic or international student undertaking a program or Major in a Computer Science discipline in the Research School of Computer Science, in the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science, and has completed a minimum of 12 units of 3000-level COMP courses. The duration of the award is 12 months and includes a stipend of $10,000 will be paid to the scholar in two equal payments, paid after the semester census date.
• ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences Study Tour and Field Trip Travel Grant, $200 – $3,500 based on the location and duration of the study tour or field trip.
• ANU College of Business & Economics Community Engagement Award, One off payment of $1000.
• ANU College of Business & Economics International Merit Scholarship for Foundation Studies, provides a 50% tuition fee scholarship for the first semester of a single or double undergraduate degree program offered by the College.

• Master of Philosophy (No Honours) International Scholarships. For the duration of the scholarship the recipient will receive a 100% Tuition Fee Waiver and a stipend of AUD$22,500 (2020 rate) per annum.  It is likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval.

Curtin University

• Curtin Housing Scholarship (new international students). This one-off subsidy of $1,500 towards Curtin housing in semester 1, 2020 taking Undergraduate & Postgraduate.
• Three AU$10,000 Meng Fei Innovative Future Leader Scholarship for international undergraduate and master’s by coursework students.
• Adobe Design Circle Scholarship up to USD $25,000 per year, for each year of the recipient’s undergraduate education (up to four years or USD $100,000).

• Deakin Bushfire Relief Residential Scholarship offers accommodation for one academic year at our Deakin Residences or accommodation close to your campus* (a minimum of 36 weeks).
• Deakin Sanctuary Scholarships is available for the normal duration of your course. The benefits are 100% of your tuition fees, additional $4000 per year and an English language course (granted on a needs basis) and recipients will be supported to complete study skills training.
• Destination Australia Scholarships for international students. Cash payment up to $15 000 per year for the normal duration of your course.
• Deakin International Scholarship, 25% of your student contribution (tuition fees).

The AGRTPS includes an international tuition fee offset, a living stipend paid at the rate of $27,596 (2019 rate),which is tax exempt and indexed annually, and Overseas Health Care cover.

La Trobe University

• La Trobe College Excellence Scholarship available to cover tuition fees for high-achieving international students accepted into undergraduate and postgraduate coursework. The value is up to a 25% reduction on your course fees.

Macquarie University

• Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship provides up to AUD $10,000 applied towards your tuition fee.

The University of Melbourne

• Graduate Research Scholarships available to high-achieving students undertaking graduate research at the University of Melbourne with total value 100% fee remission and up to $110,000. You will alsoi receive living allowance of $30,600 per year pro rata and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership. Another benefit is Relocation grant of $2000 for students moving from States or Territories other than Victoria or $3000 for students moving from outside Australia.

Monash University

• Monash International Merit Scholarship. You will receive $10,000 per annum for the duration of your degree. The scholarship is available for 31 recipients.

University of Technology Sydney

• International Undergraduate Full Tuition Scholarship is to support high achieving commencing international students enrolling in an undergraduate program at UTS in Sydney.

Victoria University

• International scholarships provides financial assistance during your study to support around 400 international scholarship recipients and sponsored students.
• VU International Excellence Scholarship VET: A$750 per semester and up to A$3,000 towards the total tuition fees. Undergraduate: A$3,000 for the first two study periods and up to A$12,000 towards the total tuition fees. Postgraduate: A$3,000 for the first two study periods and up to A$6,000 towards tuition fees.
