Macquarie University ASEAN Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to all eligible students from ASEAN countries who commence their studies in 2020. The scholarship is valued at AUD $10,000 per year for the duration of your Bachelor or Master coursework degree (AUD $5,000 will be credited each session). You do not need to apply for this scholarship. You will be assessed for the scholarship when you apply for an eligible program to study with us. Applicants who meet the criteria will be automatically advised of their eligibility in their Macquarie University course offer letter.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a citizen of either Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam.
- Meet the Academic and English requirements for a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree which is longer than one session in duration.
- Be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree commencing in 2020.
- Accept your Admission Offer and pay the commencement fee by the deadline.
Sponsored Student Grant
The Macquarie University Sponsored Student Grant is awarded to future international students commencing their course in 2019 on a fully funded external scholarship by Asian scholarship bodies. This scholarship is a one off cash payment of up to AUD $5,000 and will be paid after the Census Date in the students first session.
Applicants must:
- Be in receipt of a fully funded external scholarship by Asian scholarship bodies.
- Meet the University’s academic and English requirements for the course (must hold a full offer of admission by the application deadline).
- Achieved a minimum GPA equivalent of 5.0 out of 7.0 for Postgraduate applications; or a minimum ATAR equivalent of 90 out of 100 for Undergraduate applications.
- Apply for a course and remain enrolled in a full-time study load.
- Show evidence of approved financial guarantee.
- Stay enrolled in their program to be eligible to receive the AUD $5,000 payment. If you withdraw from your program before completion, you may be required to repay any scholarship previously awarded to you during your study period at Macquarie University based on the outcome as decided by the scholarships and grants committee.
- Applied for a program that is longer than one Session in duration.

Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship
The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is awarded to recognise academic excellence for international students. This highly competitive scholarship is based on academic merit and awarded to future students. This scholarship provides up to AUD $10,000 applied towards your tuition fee.
Eligibility Criteria
- Meet the Academic and English requirements for a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree.
- Achieve a minimum WAM equivalent of 65 for Postgraduate applications; or a minimum ATAR equivalent of 85 for Undergraduate applications.
- Be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree commencing in 2019 or 2020.

English Language Scholarship
The English Language Scholarship is awarded to students from eligible countries who wish to study an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. Students may be awarded a scholarship of 50% of their tuition fees for Academic English (packaged), taken from the Macquarie University English Language Centre for up to 10 weeks.

Eligibility Criteria
- Be a citizen of Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam or a country in Latin America.
- Receive a packaged offer of English Language and Coursework Degree with English program commencing in one of the intakes between July 2019 and November 2020.
- Accept your Admission Offer by the deadline specified on your Offer letter.

Macquarie University International College Scholarship
Macquarie University International College (MUIC) is our preferred pathway for international students seeking alternative entry into our undergraduate degrees.
Macquarie University International College Scholarship has been developed while understanding the complexity an international student would face in deciding to further their education in Australia, in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Media and Arts.
Through the scholarship, students will help to be prepared for success to progress towards the bachelor degree – all on the same familiar Macquarie University campus.
Under this scholarship, Macquarie University International College will provide AU$3,000 to each successful student, which will be a one off payment applied towards the student’s college tuition fee. The Macquarie University International College Scholarship is an once-off scholarship and not available to be renewed.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Have a citizenship of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Have applied for a course that has a full-time study load.

All applicants for MGSM scholarships must first meet the essential requirements for admission to an MGSM program, being:
- An undergraduate degree and a minimum of two years’ relevant managerial or professional work experience (allowing direct entry into the MBA)
- An undergraduate degree (allowing direct entry into the Master of Management)
- Alternatively, a minimum of five years’ relevant professional/managerial work experience if no undergraduate degree is held (allowing access to the Graduate Diploma or Certificate in the first instance).

Research scholarships
Scholarships for Higher Degree Research (HDR) at Macquarie University are available for specific projects or in the general scholarship main rounds. These include:
Government funded main round scholarships such as the Research Training Program scholarship (RTP) for domestic candidates and the International Research Training Program scholarship (IRTP) for international candidates.
Macquarie University Research Training Program scholarship (MQRTP) and International Macquarie University Research Training Program scholarship (iMQRTP). Co-funded MQRTP scholarships which may be available to cotutelle and joint PhD candidates.
Applicants should be eligible for one of the HDR degrees listed under the heading ‘Eligible Program’ for each opportunity. Eligible programs include:
